We decided to go home and individually work on our designs, an idea that previously I thought wouldn't work. We all arranged to converse over Facebook as we made changes and I was really surprised with how well the process went. As soon as someone came up with an idea they would share it, you could offer instant feedback. You could crop out sections you liked and add them into your ideas, completely collaborating together. The system seemed to work extremely well that I would consider using it again in a similar group situation. I felt really motivated and was the first time within the project that I was completely enjoying it.
As the designs progressed, we had
already chosen the main elements for your poster and it was down to the
minor details. Nudging that text to the left bit and making that text a
touch bigger. We felt that we were nearly there, so very close to an end result.
However for most of the design so far it had been only three members of our
group working on the design. Our fourth member caught up to date with our
developments, easily reading the Facebook chat history filled with design
ideas. They were able to give feedback with a fresh perspective whereas us
three were already in love with the outcome. We had one final development
session where we collaborated once more, so all 4 of us had equal
contribution. The final leant towards adding certain elements from Cloe's piece
like the subtle grey lines which I feel make the piece.
Moving towards our final design we ultimately made a slightly bigger alteration than what was expected at this stage by moving all the text into the centre. Although this would of never been my preferred choice in the beginning I agree with my group overall that the centred look really works well within our poster, emphasising the linear qualities of it.
